Community Skate Recap ⛸️

This past weekend we hosted our Free Community Skate at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre — and wow… what a turnout.

Families filled the rink, kids zoomed around (some confidently, some… enthusiastically 😄), and the mini sticks were a massive hit. We handed out a whole pile of them, warmed everyone up with hot chocolate, and wrapped it all up with our draw for the 10-pack skate sharpening card.

A big thank you goes to Chin & Orr Lawyers, who generously sponsored the hot chocolate and helped make the afternoon feel extra cozy. Community events only work because local businesses & partners show up for their neighbours — and that’s exactly what this was.

More than anything, these events remind us why we love working locally. Real estate is about houses… but home is the people inside the community.

Up Next: Coldest Night of the Year

Next weekend we’ll be taking part in Coldest Night of the Year — a fundraiser supporting people in our community experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness.

There’s still time to:

  • Donate to the cause
  • Walk with us and help raise awareness

If you’ve ever thought “I should do something,” this is a pretty easy place to start — bundle up, walk together, and make a real impact locally.

(We’ll include the link here .)

Real Estate Update

While we were on the ice, the market definitely wasn’t frozen.

New opportunities are coming up across Alliston and surrounding areas, and we’ve included our active listings and some notable local homes at the end of this newsletter. If something catches your eye — or you just want context on what you’re seeing online — reach out anytime. Even a quick “is this crazy priced?” text is always welcome.

See you around town — probably with coffee in hand.

A Heartfelt Thank You!

We’re incredibly grateful to share that we were named the Diamond Winner – Best Real Estate Agent in the Alliston Readers’ Choice 2025 Awards 🏆

Many of you might remember seeing our nomination earlier this year, and yes, we did ask for your votes. You showed up, you voted, and you made this possible. We don’t take that support lightly.

This recognition means so much to us because it comes directly from our community. From long-time clients and friends, to neighbours we haven’t met yet. Your trust is everything. It’s what motivates us to keep raising the bar, staying local, and showing up with care, strategy, and honesty in everything we do.

Thank you for believing in us, supporting our family-run team, and allowing us to do what we love every day. We’re truly honoured.

Coldest Night of the Year — We’re Walking Again 🧣

Giving back has always been a core part of what we do — not just as Realtors, but as neighbours who care deeply about this community. That’s why we’re once again proud to participate in Coldest Night of the Year, supporting Alliston’s local shelter, S.H.I.F.T.

CNOY is a meaningful, family-friendly walk that raises critical funds for programs helping individuals and families facing homelessness, hunger, and hardship right here at home. It’s a powerful reminder that community support goes far beyond bricks and mortar.

If you’d like to support our team, you can donate HERE , or better yet, bundle up and join us for the walk on February 28th. Every step — and every dollar — makes a difference.

Thank you for continuing to show up for our community alongside us. 💛

🏡 Market Snapshot: What’s Really Going On Out There?

While December tends to quiet down, this year’s market is behaving more like an afternoon at the mall the week before Christmas — pockets of calm, pockets of chaos, and every now and then a deal that feels like you found the last parking spot. Inventory remains steady, buyers are still out there (especially those hoping to secure something before spring competition hits), and well-presented homes are getting solid attention. If you’re thinking of making a move in early 2026, now’s the perfect time for a Home Equity Review so you can enter the new year informed and in control. Hit reply to start the conversation!

A New Chapter for Kelly ✨

Many of you already know Kelly – she’s been the friendly, organized, and ever-reliable force behind the scenes at The Hummel Team for nearly four years as our Client Care & Operations Specialist. From managing marketing and client communications to coordinating transactions and community initiatives, Kelly has been an integral part of our success.

Now, we’re thrilled to share that Kelly is officially a licensed REALTOR®! Her years of hands-on experience with our clients and transactions have given her a deep understanding of the real estate process – knowledge she’s now bringing directly to her own buyers and sellers as a Sales Representative.

Kelly’s background in customer service and marketing, combined with her Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Media Studies from McMaster University and her recent graduation from Humber Polytechnic’s Real Estate Salesperson Program, make her uniquely equipped to guide clients with skill and care.

Outside of work, Kelly enjoys photography, spending time with her golden retriever Harlee, and exploring Ontario’s vibrant communities. We’re proud to see her take this exciting next step and can’t wait to watch her continue to grow in her new role!
